my father died last monday, the 4th at the age of 82. he had suffered from severe alzheimers for the last few years.
his funeral was yesterday.
as my brother and i made the arrangements (my mother died in 2003) he suggested and i agreed that we would each give a eulogy.
But the younger then said while crying, "And we’re so glad to have Uncle Lenny back in the family." At the reception afterwards, many came up to me and expressed their appreciation for what I had said. And I got some really long hugs.
Thank you for sharing that with us Lenny. That couldn't have been easy. I'm glad your family has welcomed you back with hugs. You and Karen are very special people, I consider you family as well. My love to both of you.

Yep, heard this too. There was an "elder" and when he was downsized from his job, looked into purchasing a Tim Hortons franchise. At the time they sold cakes and people would ask to have them decorated with "Happy Birthday" etc. He didn't buy the franchise because of that. A few years later, they phased that part of the business out, and he missed out on a big cash cow!

i am intrigued at how fast the 15/2 speed internet will be compared to dsl.. jk.
And with the package I have free long distance telephone service to the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. So now I can talk to my JWD friends "up North" without being driven to the poor house.

oompa - it's been said here before, you need PROFESSIONAL help, for yourself and for your marriage. There are very few people here qualified to give you the help you need. You are going to drink yourself to death, your kids are being put in a position they shouldn't be, and I don't even want to think about what your wife is going through with your drinking the way you are.

Yep, they do. We had JW's as tenants ONCE and will never again! They wanted to break the lease (which we let them do), left the place dirty and then complained when we threatened legal action to recoup our cleaning and repair costs, the whole, brothers don't take brothers to court thing! We've had alot of different tentants in our place, and for the most part have been pretty fortunate, with this exception.
